Why must I like these? I know they’re absolutely awful, but something about a big, floaty, V6 convertible just sounds so, so, right. And I really don’t think the post-facelift models look to bad either, not the prettiest things, but it works.

You sort of forget all about they’re awfulness when you and three friends are crusing with the top down. Though they really aren’t that awful imo.

The Chryslers were better than these. They had the structural rigidity of an overcooked piece of pasta.

This. The 200 convertible may be gone, but now we have the Cascada in the US. There is always a place for a convertible cruiser.

You’d really like the Solara.

I do quite like those, especially the early ones.
And you could get it with a stick.

You do not know how pumped I am for the Cascada, Small(ish), luxurious, manual coupe-convertible? Sign me up.

Problem is that the nearest one to me is like 6 grand. It’s not even one of the nice ones with leather.

Absolutely.

I prefer the LeBaron convertibles of 1993-95. And even more the properly big, floaty 6-seat big-inch V8 convertibles of the ‘70s.

I saw a car model showing a spectator around it at the Texas State Fair auto building last week. Looked great in person (the car and the model both). But I had to resist the urge to go up to her and say, “hey, nice Opel, er I mean Vauxhall, er I mean Buick”...’cause that would have been kinda douchey.

If the interior is anything like the sedan, then no just no.

Just don’t get one with those wheel covers.

Yeah, they’re absolutely horrid.

I once dated a girl that had a silver ‘05 Sebring Convertible. It was surprisingly gutless for a DOHC V6. But in all honesty, for what it was intended to do, it wasn’t a bad car. It blew a balljoint at 180,000kms and the HVAC blower motor shit the bed at 200,000kms. Other than that it never gave her any problems.

The 200s weren’t quite as bad, but if “V6” and “convertible” were my sole criteria, I’d get a Mustang. If it had to be FWD then a Camry Solara. Or a CrossCabriolet then sell it right away. Or if it could be an I6 convertible, either a Lexus IS, Volvo C70 (oh wait, those wereI5s), or BMW 3-series.

My grandma has a 2002 in this bright blue. It is just a beautiful color and it looks wonderful. I drove it once and someone came up to me and offered to buy it off me.
